Flynn - My Crested Gecko
I did another impulse buy this afternoon. Just my nature, I guess. Saw some baby Crested Geckos, tried to deny the urge to buy one and failed miserably. So, here is Flynn. He is so fascinating to me. Unfortunately, he has one eye sunken in, which is showing in all his pictures. I did not notice this when I checked him over and wonder if he got dehydrated on the way home as I had the heat on the whole way and it was a 2 hour drive and he is VERY young and tiny.
Any advice on his eye condition would be greatly appreciated.

I had some bright yellow orange spotted dalmation cresteds, but I gave them to my little cousin who is raising them and doing an awesome job! I am gonna get some gargoyles, some reds maybe

I love those geckos. I'll get some at some point. Congrats. Sunken eyes is a sign of dehydration (as you said), make sure he has water and then just wait for a little bit and see if it clears up.

I will do that, Greg and see how he/she does. He is such a small little booger.
Joker, I also love the gargoyles. They are stunning!

Re: Flynn - My Crested Gecko
Here are some better pictures of Flynn's poor eye. It really looks bad, almost hard to tell he has an eye on that side. I am trying not to stress him too much, so these are the best I can get for right now.
His good eye
The skin around his eye does not look reddened like this picture. It does not have an irritated look.

Thanks! I find him quite adorable. I don't mind if this is how he will be, but I am hoping it isn't some illness he has.

Now....the big question is will there be enough room on top of that pink bathrobe for your gecko and bearded dragon????

I don't think Flynn is going to be as big a snuggler as Samson. Flynn is nocturnal also, unlike Samson. Researching says to have interaction with them but not too much as they are somewhat jumpy. I have seen Flynn jump and he has some distance! Guess Samson will be my cuddlebug and Flynn and I will just tolerate each other.

I really love impulse shopping! There's just something about it that makes it feel like you're getting away with something! How's Flynn doing???

You are right about that! He seems to be ok. Found out he has some shed on his toes that needs to come off, so I am giving warm baths at night. He is only a little over 4 inches long and fast as all heck, so it is fun trying to get him off my finger (he has super sticky feet) and into a cup without him jumping out. He is trying to behave and I am trying to make him better. It's a team effort.
Thanks for asking!

Sounds like you are doing a great deed with that one-eyed gecko.Sheri wrote:You are right about that! He seems to be ok.
