saw my first bearded dragon
went into the pet shop down in Portland last night, while waiting for Tammy to fly in from Florida and saw my first bearded dragon. He or she was absolutely stunning. He or she was perched on this log just basking and looking like he or she was loving life. Don't know....maybe I might get one of these!?! They were kind of expensive though. It was something like 125 dollars.

You've really never seen a bearded dragon? Wow, I'm assuming you mean in person, but still.

Reptiles are still very new in Maine and yes I do mean in person. I've seen pics and stuff, but never one right before my eyes. It was really cool.

I love your beardie, Greg. Can't wait until mine gets that big.
wickerstone, I cannot believe how much I enjoy my beardie. He is so mellow and friendly and loves human interaction. I am surprised at how attached I am. I wouldn't pay $125 for a beardie, unless you are looking for a specific bloodline or coloration. If it helps, I paid $55.00 for mine and he has beautiful colors.

thanks Sheri. I thought that was kind of high. I think what's happening in this state is that since reps are so new that people are calling whatever price they want, because it's right there in front of them and they don't have to hassle with mail order and people are buying them. The sad part is is that every few days you start seeing people trying to pawn off their geckos and snakes because they didn't think before they got them and decided reptiles isn't what they wanted to get into. And that sucks because the pet usually loses.
